Remembering Dana Pike's Spring Maintenance Camps

Something about this beautiful morning transported me back in time 20 years. About this time of year Dana Pike would host “Spring Maintenance Camps” where she’d bring in three trainers and each had their own ring. We’d spend a day with each trainer. I always loved that multi day learning immersion! Not only the specific sessions, but all the informal discussions over meals with the other handlers and trainers. Those camps were where I first trained with Mary Ellen Barry, Jen Pinder, and Rachel Sanders. In spite of the weather challenges we faced in the Spring in the Midwest outdoors, those camps were definitely the highlights of my early agility days.
