Maureen Barisch runs A Dog's Life in Chicago, Illinois. She offers grooming, boarding, hydrotherapy, and basic Obedience and Agility classes in a smaller heated, air conditioned and fully matted building. The matting is unusual, it is rubber roofing membrane over carpet padding. It is the softest and best grip indoor floor I've trained on. A Dog's Life is located on the North side of Chicago.
It is an unusual facility to train at, being only about 20' by 45'. They have a full selection of homemade AKC style equipment. Maureen is very accommodating about last minute scheduling and helpful setting up the equipment you need.

A brand new dog training facility is opening in Chicago. Owner Nancy Reyes has been training dogs in Obedience and Agility for many years and has "taken the plunge" and opened a beautiful new facility. She will be offering Obedience, Agility, and Flyball training classes.
I've known Nancy for several years through Dearlove Agility, Windy City Agility Club, and Dana Pike's classes. Nancy is one of the really nice people in Chicago dog training and I'm sure this new venture will be a big success.
The building is located on the south edge of O'Hare Airport so it is conveniently located for many Chicago area handlers. It certainly is convenient for me, it is only 10 minutes from my house. The centerpiece of the facility is a ~100' by ~100' ring covered in new 3/8" matting. The matting is soft and has good traction. Nancy has a full set of AKC Agility equipment.
Even though it is just opening it is already in demand. Dana Pike is using the facility for her Winter classes. I've rented the ring for Agility practice and a number of Obedience handlers were using the ring for practice too. I'm sure as other handlers become aware of the ring rental it will be booked all the time.
The building is officially opening on December 5th with a number of dog training demonstrations including: Obedience, Agility, and Flyball. Our Flyball team Black Sheep Squadron will be giving the Flyball demonstration.

Windy City K-9 Club (WCK9) is located on the near North side of Chicago. It offers grooming, boarding, Obedience, Agility and Flyball classes in a bright, heated, air conditioned and fully matted building. The matting is 1/8" plastic matting.
WCK9 has a full set of AKC equipment and they recently purchased new contact equipment. In addition to Agility classes, WCK9 offers ring rental and weekly course run throughs.
Check out the Windy City K-9 website for directions, class, and rental information.

The Wisconsin-Illinois Agility Group (WAG) is a club that runs a facility near the Illinois-Wisconsin border in Spring Grove, Illinois. They offer Agility classes in a nice heated, air conditioned and fully matted building. The matting is at least 3/8 of an inch thick and maybe as much as 1/2 inch thick.
The also hold almost monthly UKC trials including double trials (two trials in a single day). They will be holding AKC trials in the near future. Consequently, in addition to a full set of AKC equipment they also have a full set of UKC equipment. Both types of equipment are available during ring rental. The WAG group also hosts Fun Matches with nested courses of both UKC and AKC equipment at Novice and Excellent levels.
Although it is a one drive from Chicago each way this is a great facility to rent, especially if you'll be trialing there someday. Check out the WI-IL Agility Group website for directions, class, and rental information.
